A British Election Will Set Up the Brexit Endgame

After more than three years of Brexit negotiations, deals and failures, British voters will find themselves in December facing another Parliamentary election that could determine whether the United Kingdom will indeed leave the European Union and under what circumstances.

Yet another Brexit deadline was pushed back on Oct. 28, making it a certainty that the United Kingdom will not leave the European Union before the end of this year. And now that a British parliamentary election has been set for mid-December, the uncertainty surrounding when -- or even whether -- the country will complete its divorce from the Continental bloc has been extended. On Oct. 29, the House of Commons set the next general election for Dec. 12, making the resulting government responsible for deciding how to proceed with Brexit....
