Colombia: FARC'S Desperation Move Against Uribe

Colombian police have uncovered two Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) plots to assassinate President Alvaro Uribe in the past week. This is an indication of developing desperation on the part of FARC in response to the impact that Uribe's campaign is now having on the rebel group. Uribe already has survived 18 assassination attempts, but in the months to come FARC efforts to kill him can be expected to intensify.
