Pakistan: A Synopsis of the Lahore Attacks

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Oct. 15 launched a series of coordinated attacks in Lahore, Pakistan, and Kohat in the North-West Frontier Province. Although the attacks demonstrated the ability of the TTP to carry out countrywide strikes, these will further steel the will of the Pakistani government. Islamabad sees the TTP as a direct threat and will have to neutralize the command and control ability of the TTP to reduce the chances of spectacular, coordinated strikes.
