Poland: A Strong Coalition in the Making

Poland's Law and Justice Party on Sept. 27 nominated its chief economist, Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, to be the next prime minister of Poland. Marcinkiewicz, an economic liberal, has views similar to those of the Civic Platform, the coalition's junior member. This move suggests that the newly elected center-right coalition government will be solid for the foreseeable future, with a decidedly nationalistic foreign policy.
