Summary

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries announced Oct. 24 that it will cut oil production by 1.5 million barrels per day starting Nov. 1. Whether the cut actually will occur is another matter, however, especially given that Saudi Arabia may not be interested in bearing the brunt of the cuts as it usually does.
