Venezuela’s Supreme Court on April 1 called on lawmakers to strip Juan Guaido of his parliamentary immunity, signaling that the government of President Nicolas Maduro is moving to justify the opposition leader's eventual arrest. In the short term, Guaido’s arrest would likely fuel more demonstrations and spur the United States to place even heavier sanctions on Venezuela. But it's unlikely Maduro would begin taking steps to detain Guaido if he did not feel confident about his government's ability to do so without losing his crucial military support....
