Egypt: Culture Minister Resigns Over Abuse

Egyptian Culture Minister Mohamed Saber Arab resigned Feb. 4 after videos were released of police beating and dragging a naked man through the streets during clashes near the presidential palace, AP reported, citing Al-Ahram. Al-Ahram reported that the minister resigned to protest the police abuses. Protests that began in late January appear to have diminished since the Egyptian military cautioned opposition leaders against destabilizing the government....
