Egypt: Tear Gas Fired At Protesters Outside Presidential Palace

Police fired tear gas at hundreds of protesters outside the presidential palace in Cairo commemorating the Jan. 25 anniversary of the 2011 uprising, Nile News TV reported. Earlier in the day, the Egyptian army deployed armored vehicles and tanks to secure certain governorates and major roads, unnamed military sources said, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported. Army vehicles have been stationed on the Cairo-Assiut Western Desert Road and roads leading to Sinai, Aswan and Marsa Matruh governorates, the sources said.
