Gabon: Troops Disperse Opposition Protest

Gabonese security forces fired tear gas at a protest in Libreville, injuring several and arresting about 30 supporters of opposition leader Andre Mba Obame, AFP reported Jan. 27. According Obame's defense minister, Michel Ongoundou, Gabonese soldiers and paramilitary gendarmes deployed against the protesters at dawn on Jan. 27.
