Georgia: Feb. 25 Declared 'Soviet Occupation Day'

The Georgian parliament on July 21 approved a resolution marking Feb. 25 "Soviet Occupation Day," Kavkas-Press reported. The Soviet army invaded Tbilisi on that date in 1921. The parliament also approved an initiative declaring Aug. 23, when the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was signed, the "Day of Commemoration of Victims of Totalitarianism."
