Hungary: Polish Prime Minister To Visit Budapest Over EU Sanctions

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is scheduled to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest on Jan. 3 to discuss the European Commission's decision to activate Article 7 sanctions against Warsaw, EUobserver reported. Any decision on sanctions will need a unanimous vote among EU member states and Orban has already vowed to veto any sanctions against Poland. Poland's controversial judicial reform plans prompted the European Commission to begin the process of considering sanctions against Warsaw.
