Iraq: Explosions Kill At Least 17 In Baghdad

A series of car bombs exploded across Baghdad on May 27, killing at least 17 people, police and hospital officials said, Reuters reported. The attacks took place in markets and shopping areas in predominantly Shiite neighborhoods. Though no group has claimed responsibility for the bombings, some of Iraq's Sunni militant organizations have been steadily ramping up their attacks across the country in an attempt to remilitarize the Sunni political and tribal landscape in Iraq.
