Iraq: PM Rejects U.S. Immunity Deal

U.S. troops are leaving Iraq because Baghdad rejected Washington's demands that any remaining U.S. military forces would be shielded from prosecution or lawsuits, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Oct. 22, AP reported. The withdrawal of 40,000 U.S. troops will be completed by Dec. 31, al-Maliki said, adding that discussions over the location and number of U.S. trainers also ended.
