Iraq has put its army on high alert and mobilized forces to Diyala and Salah ad Din provinces, straining relations between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government, PUK Media reported Nov. 20. The government has deployed a brigade from Baghdad to Diyala province, a source said. Another source said the brigade has moved around 100 military vehicles to the area. The army has moved 35 tanks to the Hamrin Mountains in Salah ad Din, a source said. Peshmerga forces are prepared for any clashes, a source said.
