Libya: Missiles Missing From Weapons Facility

Russian-made surface-to-air missiles, known as Igla-S missiles, are missing from a weapons facility in Tripoli, CNN reported Sept. 7 amid reports of weapons looting across Libya. A CNN team and Human Rights Watch found empty crates marked with inventory lists identifying Igla-S missiles. Fighters loyal to the National Transitional Council took armaments from the facility, which is located near Moammar Gadhafi's military base in southeast Tripoli, witnesses said.
