Mexico: Money Laundering Law Approved

Mexico's Senate unanimously approved a law against money laundering April 28, El Universal reported. The law was approved in a record 30 minutes. It directs the attorney general's office to create a unit to monitor money laundering and deliver an annual report to the Mexican Congress. Violators can be fined up to 4 million pesos (about $350,000) and face up to 16 years in prison.
