Pakistan: Foreign Minister Meets With Iranian Counterpart

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and his Pakistani counterpart, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, discussed emphasizing political and economic relations, Afghanistan, and energy cooperation during a meeting in Islamabad, Islamic Republic News Agency reported March 12. Zarif said Iran and Pakistan should coordinate counterterrorism and drug trafficking efforts. Iran continues to support Taliban forces in Afghanistan, to counter the Islamic State threat there.
