Russia: Moscow Ready To Supply Iran With Surface-to-Air Missiles

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree April 13 authorizing the shipment of an unspecified number of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems to Iran, Interfax reported. The decree, which will become effective immediately, was signed as Iranian Minister of Defense Hossein Dehghan and National Security Advisor Ali Shamkhani were visiting Moscow. The U.S. Department of State has previously condemned the selling of Russian anti-aircraft systems to Iran. The S-300 is considered to be one of the world’s most capable anti-aircraft systems.
