Syria: Rebel Coalition Moving Headquarters From Egypt To Turkey

The opposition Syrian National Coalition is transferring its headquarters from Egypt to Turkey, since the interim Egyptian government is limiting the movements of Syrian dissidents in the country, the coalition's representative in Turkey said Aug. 17, Hurriyet reported. Many Syrian opposition figures are leaving Egypt, and the current government has overturned plans made by ousted President Mohammed Morsi to freeze diplomatic relations with the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad. Turkey, meanwhile, is still hoping that a pro-Ankara, Sunni-dominated regime will eventually takeover in Syria.
