As geopolitical analysts, our primary task is to look to the future. But with the turning of the year, it is also instructive to take stock of the previous year and consider what events had the largest geopolitical impact. Some things are obvious: The Oct.7 Hamas attack on Israel and the subsequent Israeli response in Gaza, for example. Others seem significant at the time, but are more marker than inflection point....
