Nov 9, 2004 | 03:47 GMT

Shortly after its opening strikes, the assault against Al Fallujah moved into a phase in which U.S. and Iraqi troops gained a tactical advantage. The pace of the attack as it continues will reveal the political climate surrounding the military maneuvers.
