The recent decentralization of al Shabaab makes it extremely difficult for its enemies to identify a center of gravity to attack. The group has successfully reverted to guerrilla warfare against the forces of the Somali government and their allies following its ejection from the southern city of Kismayo and from the capital, Mogadishu.
