Angola Tries to Reshape Perceptions of Corruption

Summary

Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti is visiting the United States from May 5 to May 8. Chikoti and U.S. officials are slated to discuss economic cooperation and regional security, and a key part of those discussions will cover governance problems in Angola, including perceptions of the country's social and economic inequality and widespread corruption. Chikoti's main goal in discussing these issues will be to ease mounting pressures on Angola's ability to invest its wealth in Western economies.
