Argentina: A U.S. Court's Threatening Ruling

Summary

A federal court in the United States has awarded plaintiffs $2.2 billion in compensation for a 2001 Argentine bond default. Argentina might have difficulty coming up with the money. More worryingly, Buenos Aires could see the United States seize Argentine government assets, and other countries might follow the U.S. court's precedent.
