Armenia and Azerbaijan Feel the Effects of the Ukraine Standoff

Summary
In light of the standoff between Russia and the West over Ukraine, two other countries in the former Soviet periphery — Azerbaijan and Armenia — have gained importance. Both countries have had to reassess their foreign policy positions regarding relations with Russia and the West — and with each other. As the standoff continues, any shifts in their positions could significantly affect both regional security and the broader competition between Moscow and the West over Eurasia.
