ASEAN: Expanding International Trade

Summary

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) signed a free trade agreement with Australia and New Zealand on Feb. 27, during a long-delayed ASEAN summit in Hua Hin, Thailand. The deal, which is to take effect on July 1, marks another significant step forward in ASEAN's attempt to make itself an integral part of world trade.
