Summary
Bahrain's opposition February 14 Movement has issued a letter threatening the country's large foreign community, which often is used to augment the regime's security forces. Tensions between foreigners and Bahraini citizens have existed for some time, but the 2011 anti-regime protests heightened those tensions because many Bahrainis associated the violent crackdowns with foreign security personnel. However, foreigners are unlikely to leave the country because the economic opportunities in Bahrain are greater than those in the foreigners' home countries.
