Battle for the FSU: Wooing Armenia

Logistical agreements between the U.S. military and the Armenian armed forces have been announced following a visit to Armenia by a senior U.S. military official. Gen. Charles Wald walked away from Yerevan with an agreement to allow U.S. landing rights on Armenian airfields. On a broader scale, the talks represent Washington's efforts to feel out — and convert — the once-staunch Russian-Iranian ally.
