Brazil: The Implications of Russia's Presence in South America

Summary

An increase in Russian influence in South America fundamentally would threaten Brazil. Although Brazil is strong, it is also geographically isolated and thus has not made many of the major changes needed for it to become a regional hegemon. Russia's increasing influence could push Brazil to make those needed changes and increase its regional dominance.
