STRATFOR sources said Oct. 20 that mortgage lending has stopped at some Bulgarian banks. The global financial crisis that has already hit Western Europe now threatens to hit Bulgaria along with the Austrian, Greek and Italian banks that are dominant stakeholders in Bulgaria's banking sector and the Balkans.
