China's Diesel Shortage

Due to China's intensifying diesel shortage, Beijing is considering tapping the state's refined fuel reserves, according to an executive with one of China's state refiners. While the shortage is temporary, it has revealed the need for Beijing to address issues in the energy sector resulting from the dominance of two state-owned refineries and from the current price mechanism.
