Conflicting Reports on Tajikistan Fighting

Summary

Tajik military officials are reporting the deaths of 34 soldiers since Oct. 6 in the country's fight against resurgent Islamist militancy, but a STRATFOR source says the number of casualties may be as high as 300. While STRATFOR cannot currently confirm the source report, it is notable in its disparity with official military accounts.
