China's National Bureau of Statistics released monthly economic figures on Feb. 11, revealing a 1.5 percent year-on-year increase in the consumer price index. Concerns about inflation rates in China recently have surged to the fore, but the focus is on three sectors particularly: food, energy costs and real estate. Prices in these areas have crept (or in some cases soared) upward during the past few months, leading to fears of potential social unrest.
