Summary

A STRATFOR source says Egypt will lessen recent sentences handed down on Hezbollah affiliates in Egypt after back-channel negotiations between Cairo and the Lebanon-based militant group. Egypt is attempting to avoid potential reprisals from Hezbollah and to establish a good working relationship with the group in order to undermine Iran's influence.
