EU: Foreign Policy and the 'Eastern Partnership'

Poland and Sweden have taken the lead on the European Union's "Eastern Partnership" initiative, an agreement that provides for cooperation with Europe's eastern periphery. The strategy is indicative of the kind of foreign policy that can be expected out of Brussels for some time, especially in light of the potential failure of the Lisbon Treaty.
