Summary

There are various ways to bring down a government or an entire political system. In the past few years, the method of choice in several Central and Eastern European countries has been the use of large-scale protests. In a region where Russia and Western powers are competing for influence, understanding the strengths, weaknesses, grievances, organizational strategy and external supporters of protest movements is key for forecasting internal shifts that could affect the geopolitical alignment of borderland countries.
