To some, auto racing is a bore, the fast-paced art of driving around in circles. But to millions of fans around the world, the various iterations of racing are a celebration of unbridled human and technological potential, a reminder of the famous dictum attributed to Ernest Hemingway: "There are but three true sports -- bullfighting, mountain climbing and motor racing. The rest are merely games."
