Despite settler resistance, the withdrawal will go through as planned and claims will be made worldwide that this is a major step forward in the peace process. Looking beyond the disengagement, however, both Israelis and Palestinians will suffer major withdrawal pains in the coming months that could trigger an even greater setback to the Israeli-Palestinian dialogue.
