The world's largest democratic contest is coming to a close. India's elections are held every five years, and 900 million voters are eligible this year to choose members for the Lok Sabha, the lower house of parliament. The elections are coming at a pivotal moment. India is a rising military power in a challenging geopolitical landscape. It's home to a rapidly expanding economy that still needs to produce more jobs. And the country boasts a larger population than Europe that seeks greater prosperity and a higher standard of living.

On this episode of the Stratfor Talks podcast, South Asia Analyst Faisel Pervaiz and contributor Ambika Vishwanath provide guidance on India's 2019 general elections.
