Germany: A 'Bad Bank' Plan for Landesbanks

Similar to a private-sector plan unveiled in May, a "bad bank" scheme for Germany's Landesbanks has been approved by the German Cabinet. However, these regional and partly state-owned banks would have to commit to restructuring and consolidating by the end of 2010.
