Summary
Update: 11/29/08 9:56 CDT: Contrary to earlier media reports, plans for the head of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt.-Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha, to travel to India have been amended, Hindu reported Nov. 28. An ISI representative will reportedly go in place of Pasha. The situation in India in the wake of the militant attacks in Mumbai is now moving from the tactical to the strategic level. India so far has refrained from laying all the blame on Pakistan. The outcome of Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha's visit to India, and the wider ongoing high-level communications between New Delhi and Islamabad, will determine the magnitude of the emerging regional crisis.
