Summary
Bangalore police said on Aug. 13 that they have evidence linking Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency with eastern Indian Maoist militants known as Naxalites. It is logical that elements within the ISI would provide modest support for the militants, and that the militants would accept support to further their goals. But the Naxalites have not demonstrated an intent to carry out attacks outside their core territory, much less at the behest of outside forces. Thus, it is unlikely that this purported cooperation will result in the militants seriously changing their strategy.
