An Ineffective Attack in Yemen's Capital

Summary

A car carrying British diplomats, including the deputy chief of mission, was attacked Oct. 6 near the British embassy in Sanaa, Yemen, the country's capital. One passenger and several passersby were injured but no one was killed. The Yemeni al Qaeda node al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has a history of carrying out attacks on foreigners in Sanaa, and this attack was consistent with AQAP's operational history in the city — i.e., ineffective.
