Summary

The leaders of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan met May 24 in Tehran, where they discussed the growing Taliban insurgency in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. There is much for the three sides to sort out, so this meeting barely began to scratch the surface. But it got the process of sorting out the regional multilateral dynamic going — ultimately helping to shape the outcome of international efforts to fight the spreading Taliban insurgency in Southwest Asia.
