Iran, Lebanon: Training Hezbollah

Summary

Approximately 250 Hezbollah fighters went to Iran from July to September for training, reported a STRATFOR source connected to Hezbollah. While in Iran, many fighters received artillery operations training on the Fajr-5 and an upgraded Zelzal-2. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps regularly brings Hezbollah fighters to Iran for advanced training, but now, Iran is likely acting with a sense of urgency to prepare its militant proxies in case Tehran's ongoing nuclear standoff with the West worsens.
