Summary
The capture of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein more than a year ago was good news for the coalition effort, which had been frustrated by an elusive Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan and a growing insurgency in Iraq. But it has become clear over the past year that Hussein's capture has had little — if any — impact on the insurgency, which is being waged by three main movements with different motives and little affection for Iraq's former president.
