Summary

Ireland announced Dec. 15 a plan for a 10 billion euro (US$13.5 billion) bank bailout plan. Once called the "Celtic Tiger" because of its rapid economic growth, Ireland could be facing real economic difficulties as the global economic crisis sweeps across Europe and Ireland's overinflated housing market continues to crash.
