Japan's Constitution and Evolution

The ruling Japanese Liberal Democratic Party approved a draft revision of the Japanese Constitution that includes changes to the war-renouncing Article 9, among other things. The government also welcomed a move by Washington to station a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in Japan, something Tokyo has long opposed.
