Summary
Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov continued talks with China's top leaders on April 11. Kazakhstan remains tied to Russia through a number of channels left over from Soviet rule, but these ties have begun to loosen just as China is pushing more assertively for a closer rapport with Kazakhstan. And, for the foreseeable future, China has all the momentum.
