Kenya: A Deal but No Crisis Resolution
Feb 1, 2008 | 21:01 GMT
Summary
Former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan brokered a deal in Kenya on Feb. 1 between representatives of the Kenyan president and the head of the country's opposition Orange Democratic Movement aimed at trying to end the post-election violence that has wracked Kenya. No agreement has been reached on resolving the larger political crisis, however, meaning violence could quickly erupt once more.
